Indigenous short-video app Chingari recently introduced $Gari, an Indian cryptocurrency via its website located in India the weekend off. The cryptocurrency token was launched by Chingari which is a short-video app developed in India has also launched its marketplace for NFT.
$Gari will feature Bollywood star Salman Khan as its brand ambassador. He was present at the event that launched in Mumbai. The cryptocurrency was introduced by Chingari the indigenous short-video app which was created within India to compete with the illegal Chinese App TikTok. Spark Co-founder and CEO Sumit Ghosh said that the platform will let users purchase crypto tokens to create or watching content. Ghosh said that our idea is to monetize the talent of the creators and empower them through a social platform so that they can earn along with creation.
The brand ambassador for $GARI Salman Khan said in a prepared statement: “Producers are shaping the future of entertainment. With the inclusion of the $GARI reward program, makers will be further inspired to create new and more engaging videos on the Chingari app. It’s going to be an interesting journey here”.
Spark has announced it recently concluded a round of capital raising and has received over $19 million (approximately the equivalent of 142.5 crores) from more than 30 venture funds and private investors. According to Spark, this round of capital will enable them to continue developing $Gari, a cryptocurrency that is based on its Solana blockchain.
Chingari states that it plans to use the funds to help creators of content through its platform to monetize their content. The app for short videos in India was launched in November of the year 2018 in Bengaluru. The app works with platforms such as Instagram Reels, MX Takatak, Josh, and Moj.
